Resources for Caregivers

VA Video Connect (VVC)

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Video Connect (VVC) is a free and secure mobile application (app) designed to help caregivers and family members support Veterans with their VA health care plan. The app hosts videoconferences for Veterans, caregivers, and up to four additional family members to conveniently attend medical appointments via live video without physically going to VA facilities.

Caregiver Connect is an option in the VVC scheduling process that enables Veterans to invite guests to their VA video telehealth visits. Caregivers can help Veterans receive VA care and join them in video telehealth visits from anywhere in the United States. Through VVC, a Veteran’s support system can attend their telehealth visit and stay informed about their health and needs. VVC is available to all caregivers of Veterans enrolled in VA health care.

Increased Access to Care

VVC helps provide the right care in the right place at the right time. Veterans, caregivers, and support systems who live in rural areas or have health conditions that make it difficult to travel can connect with VA health providers through the app. Veterans can also gain access to specialists regardless of their location.

Easy to Use

VVC can be accessed on nearly any device with a camera, microphone, and internet connection through the link provided by the VA health provider. The session will launch automatically in the app after the session link is selected from the email invitation. No application download is required, but it is available in Apple, Google Play, and VA App stores. If Veterans, caregivers, or family members need assistance with VVC, they can contact VA’s Office of Connected Care Help Desk at 866-651-3180, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Benefits of VCC:

  • Convenience in scheduling and attending VA health care appointments.
  • Reduced travel and wait times related to Veterans’ medical needs.
  • Alleviate some of the stress associated with attending an in-person appointment.
  • Innovative and technologically advanced care coordination.
